When a device is beyond a screen or battery swap, most shops tell you to buy a new one. We work on the circuit board itself — under a microscope, with hot air and micro soldering — so the fault gets fixed instead of the whole device getting replaced.
What we can repair at board level
- Phone or laptop that will not turn on
- Liquid damage — corrosion cleaned and repaired
- Charging IC faults: not charging, not recognised by a computer
- No backlight or no image while the device is still running
- Boot loops on phone and laptop motherboards
- Laptop power circuit and DC jack faults
- Recovering photos and data from a phone that will not start
- Micro soldering on connectors and flex ports
What the assessment costs
Phones: no fix, no fee. That includes board-level work — if we cannot save the board, you pay nothing.
Computers: $30 assessment, credited in full towards the repair if you go ahead. You only pay it if you decide not to proceed. It covers the bench time it takes to find out what has actually failed.
How long it takes
Phones — usually overnight. There are only so many iPhone models, so we keep the common parts in stock. Most phone board repairs stay on the bench overnight and are ready the next day.
Computers — allow a few days. Laptop and desktop board components are model-specific and rarely interchangeable, so most have to be ordered in for the job.
This is not same-day work — the device is left with us. We assess the board, then quote the price and the likely timeframe before any work starts. Not every board can be saved; if yours cannot, we will tell you straight rather than let you spend money finding out.
