DT Repair provides local computer and laptop repairs from our own workshop upstairs at Mountain Gate Shopping Centre in Ferntree Gully. Leave your computer with us, talk to the technician who will actually work on it, and approve the price before anything starts. We do not send work away.

- Bring the computer in — no appointment needed.
- We assess it and quote you a price and a likely timeframe.
- Work only starts once you approve the quote.
- Most upgrades are finished within a day or two, depending on parts.
What the assessment costs
Computers — $30 assessment, credited in full towards the repair if you go ahead. You only actually pay it if you decide not to proceed.
If the fault is obvious — a cracked screen, a dead battery — we can quote you on the spot and there is nothing to pay for that. The $30 applies when we have to find out why: a computer that will not start has to be pulled apart and tested properly, and that is real bench time whatever the answer turns out to be.
Sometimes the answer is that the CPU has failed and the repair costs more than a good second-hand machine is worth. In that case we tell you straight, and the $30 covers the work that found it out. You are never talked into a repair that does not make sense.
Phones are different — no fix, no fee. That includes motherboard-level repairs. If we cannot save it, you pay nothing.
Warranty
All of our repair work carries a 3-month warranty.

Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome during opening hours.
Do you repair desktops as well as laptops?
Yes, both.
Can you upgrade my computer with an SSD or more RAM?
Yes. This is one of the most common jobs we do, and it is usually the cheapest way to make an older computer feel fast again.
Will I get a price before the repair starts?
Always. Nothing is done until you approve the quote.
Will I lose my data?
Please back up anything important before bringing a device in. Ask us if you need help with a backup or data transfer.
